Foodology: Mock Apple Pie

Can the taste and texture of food really be trusted? At this workshop children will experiment with the ways food scientists can trick our tongues when they make processed foods. Then we’ll make two kinds of mini apple pies – one normal, and one “deceptive” apple pie (…from a recipe that goes all the way back to the Great Depression!)
Note: the pies are “take and bake” style, so you will need to bake them in your own oven at home.
Three sessions: 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm
