Making Masterpieces: Bad Day Sock Puppets

July 20, 2016 | 2:30 pm

Does your child ever have an occasional “terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day?” We invite you to create a Bad Day Sock Puppet for those days your child could use an extra friend to talk to. Puppet therapy has been proven to help children process a wide-range of emotions, to practice communicating how they feel, and to encourage healing. This Making Masterpieces session will include a reading of the book “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” by Judith Viorst.

Museum admission plus $5.00 materials fee per child.

Children are encouraged to bring their Bad Day Sock Puppets to the Movies Under the Walkway showing of “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” at sundown on Saturday, August 6 at Upper Landing Park, Poughkeepsie. As part of this event, Mayor Rob Rolison will perform a special reading of the original storybook.
