Outdoor Pop-Up Art Experience: Chihuly Color Splash
July 15, 2021 | Two Sessions 10:00 am and 1:00 pm
Program Description: Dale Chihuly is a world-renowned artist who created magical, large glass art sculptures that are full of bold colors, patterns and textures. Chihuly’s glass art highlights how color and light can be made into amazing art!
Kids will explore the color and light in Chihuly’s art. Color, patterns, and textures in his art will be explored using SPIN ART! Kids will then create their own paint-dipped “glass” sculpture mobile made from plastic water bottles that can be hung outside or in a garden!
Fun Fact: Dale Chihuly would create colorful, motion-dripped paintings as inspiration in making his glass creations!
This will be a messy activity so please wear something you don’t mind getting dirty!
This program is for children ages 3-7 and space is limited. Pre-registration is required.
Cost: MHCM Members: $6; non-members $10 per child (parents / caregivers FREE)
Please Note: The main museum building remains closed at this time due to COVID-19. This special socially-distanced outdoor program will be held in MHCM’s open-air waterfront pavilion.
