Picasso’s Palette: Action Jackson

July 10, 2019 | morning session 11:00 am - 11:45 am; afternoon session 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm

Summer Workshops – We are offering exciting workshops this summer all about science, ecology, art and food. When each workshop is finished children will get to make a pin-on button showing what they learned. Children are encouraged to wear their buttons every time they come to the museum. For every 4 buttons collected, children will get $4.00 off a  purchase of $5.00 or more at the Museum gift shop.

“Picasso’s Palette” Workshops invite children and adults to become inspired by famous artists and learn their signature styles.  This workshop is designed for children ages 4 – 6 and their parent/caregiver.  There is a different workshop theme each week during July and August!

This week’s theme:  Action Jackson Painting – Participants will hear the story of Jackson Pollock’s influential approach to art. Then will use his emotional style to create their own canvas splatter paining.  Warning:  this could (will) get messy!

Workshop Cost:  $7.00 per child, plus Museum admission
