Ribbon Cutting: The Children’s Garden @ MHCM
September 19, 2016 | 12:00 noon
Join the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum and the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce for the official grand opening of The Children’s Garden @ MHCM!
Our newest learning space is outdoors and was developed to help young children and families learn about growing their own food and practice gardening techniques. Our garden features raised beds of different heights with demonstration plantings and practice areas, plus a new potting shed, compost area and outdoor classroom.
Families with children are encouraged to attend. This event is rain or shine. Free parking is available at the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum. Light refreshments will be served. Please note: the museum is NOT open to the public, but private behind-the-scenes tours will be given for attendees following the formal event program.
The Children’s Garden @ MHCM was developed with the generous support of The Charlotte Cunneen-Hacket Charitable Trust, the Poughkeepsie Garden Club, The Women’s Professional Network, Williams Lumber, and volunteers from IBM and the Environmental Cooperative at Vassar College.
