Painting Workshop

We’re teaming up with The Art Effect for a painting workshop led by artist Emi Grace Night in the Museum Pavilion! Explore the calming effect of using paint, color and value to express ourselves. Participants will learn to use paints to build layers and color and make creative images of their choice. Participants are encouraged to pick images that represent symbols and personal experiences that evoke serenity. Take home your very own project! All materials are included.

AGES: 8-11

COST: MHDM Members: $10; Non-members: $15

About the Artist 

Emi Grace Night (she/her or they/them) is a visual artist and songwriter from the Ohio River Valley. She holds bachelor’s degrees in painting and songwriting. She has released multiple studio albums of her original music and has toured extensively, performing on national and international tours with her band and solo music project, Strawberry Runners. Emi is currently based in the Hudson River Valley where she is a board member of the Millbrook Arts Group and Lead Art Educator at The Wassaic Project.  She designs and leads art and music workshops for The Art Effect and Hudson Valley Interarts.  She is eager to share her passion for art, music, and learning through her workshops, private lessons, drawing and painting groups, and drop-in art spaces throughout Dutchess County, and beyond.
